New Vehicle Receiving and Inspection Procedures
Codes of Practice - 14th May, 2008
During 2004, the Blue Book issued in 1989 has been revised as a joint project undertaken by the FCAI Logistics Committee, Transport Companies and logistics representatives. This Manual covers the procedures required for the receiving and inspection of all new vehicles and addresses the responsibilities and expectations of both the carrier and the receiver in the process. The New Vehicle Receiving and Inspection Procedures (Part 1 and Part 2) are implemented effective 1 January 2005.
It is a requirement that all personnel who inspect vehicles on receipt are competent and trained in the procedures and requirements of this manual. The Receiver must ensure that they provide appropriately trained personnel to carry out the inspection jointly with the Vehicle Carrie's representative. It is also important that the people responsible for the transportation damage repair order preparation and for transportation claims processing be competent with carrying out these procedures.
